March 16, 2009 Salem SCORE Honored with Double Performance Awards.
At the monthly SCORE Chapter meeting, Bill Klammer, District Director for National SCORE, announced that the local Chapter, which includes Salem, Corvallis, McMinnville, Lincoln City, Albany, and other communities in the mid-Willamette Valley and coastal areas....was honored with two awards in recognition of outstanding contributions to the small business community.
"As SCORE District Director, I am proud to present the "Outstanding Chapter of the Year Award", for 2008 to Salem SCORE and to acknowledge the excellent leadership of 2008 Chairperson, Bob Bernhard", said Klammer.
"We are grateful for their continued adherence to basic SCORE vaues which include free business counseling offered in a confidential, professioinal and patient manner; and for the community outreach offered by Salem SCORE throughout the year."
The Chapter also received the Performance Excellence Award from National SCORE "In Recognition for Achieving Outstanding Performance for FY2008". This award was presented to just 9 Chapters, among a nation-wide total of 386 Chapters.
Past Chairman, Bob Bernhard and current Chairman, Pete Meuleveld, accepted these awards on behalf of the 23 other Accredited Counselors, who donate their time and expertise in counseling and mentoring new and growing businesses in the area. The Chapter was additionally praised for their work with inmates of our penal institutions to help them prepare for meaningful careers upon their release. |
